Do flowers have a season?

As a bride, you should ask your florist which flowers are in season at the particular time you are getting married. Although the flower season maybe not be the deciding factor in your flower choices, the flower seasons play a role in a couple ways.

For one, flower quality will vary depending on the season. Some flowers are available all year-long and will remain at a fairly constant quality. Others will be much different quality at different times of the year or only available for a short season. To get the best quality flowers you want to make sure the flowers you choose are in season.

Secondly, the in-season flowers will have better pricing. Peonies are fairly reasonably priced in their season, which is during the spring and early summer months. You can purchase peonies at different times of the year—but they are going to be rather pricy and sub-par quality.

To make a long story short, if you chose flowers that are in season, you will have the best quality and the best pricing possible!

You don’t have to be a flower expert to figure out what flowers are in season. A florist should be able to tell you which flowers are in season and give you several suggestions to make your decisions a little easier!
