The answer is definitely YES!! If you do not feel like you can, then you might want to re-consider who you are working with!
Florists get into certain rhythms and develop a style that is particular to them. I know there are a lot of flowers I would rather not use because they do not fit my style. A perfect example: I very passionately do not like Baby’s Breath. It is expensive, very bunchy, hard to work with, looks bad, and did I mention it SMELLS TERRIBLE! I think you get the point. I would rather not work with Baby’s Breath.
Just because I personally have such feelings against Baby’s Breath does not mean I should take it off of my flower pallet. Baby’s Breath has many uses in flower arrangements and is a rather popular filler flower.
A florist is working for you. They should make suggestions that work best for you and what you want–not necessarily what they want. A florist should be happy to make changes. If I am off-base with my suggestions I want to know!
At the end of the day, these are your flowers and you are paying the bill! You should be completely happy with them!
